"Just Give Thanks!"

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays this time of year that is very near and dear to my heart. Not only is it my mother's birthday month, but the remembrance of this holiday brings great joy to my heart and tears to my eyes. Before I go on to state what I am thankful for, let us take one moment to acknowledge and appreciate the life that we are all given. There are definitely people whom are less fortunate than us and do not have the great freedoms and gift of life that we all do, whether it is being disabled or simply having no food. Thanksgiving is a time of the year where family gets together and joins each other to spend quality time and thank one another for the gifts given to each other. Whether it be just thanking someone for picking up your books that you have dropped to saving your life, even the smallest bit of help should be appreciated. Though small, the things that seem less important always help in the long run.

In my life, the first thing that comes to my mind is to be thankful for the life I am given. I have been gifted with a great and healthy life, with a bright future, all guided by my helpful parents and cute younger brother! I cannot even express my sincere gratitude to them, as they have guided me to becoming the person I am today and continually support each move or decision I take on in life. Next, without my family, I would be a struggling person, but my friends are always at my back and hold me up tall and confident. My best friends in the whole world have always been by my side and watched me like I was their sister. It truly brings tears to my eyes to know that I will always be supported and included in a group without feeling lonely. My friends and family create the safe home that I live in. I am thankful and great full to these aspects in my life. Of course, I cannot forget the gift of singing and dancing I have been rewarded with in life. My two passions, loves, hopes, dreams, and goals have transformed my character into a unique individual. Without singing or dancing, I cannot be the same person I am today.

Thanksgiving gives the gift of thanks to brighten up your day and to reassure that your life, given to you as an individual, will guide you off in the right direction.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I love you all from the bottom of my heart! <3

  1. Oh, Shreya. You're much too sweet. You are a genuinely good person and I'm glad you have found so much happiness in your given life-- there are so many people unhappy with who they are or how things are.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
